Sama seperti OS Windows 7, WP7 kini dilengkapi fitur multi-touch dengan display WVGA berteknologi sub pixel positioning. Teknologi ini diklaim Microsoft memudahkan sebuah teks untuk terbaca dalam keadaan apapun.
Tampilan layar WP7 ini lebih terkesan 'tebal' dengan lima buah ikon yang dapat diakses langsung. Di antaranya: Internet Explorer, Phone, Text, People, Pictures dan Multimedia (Zune).
Saat pengguna mengakses ikon Multimedia, WP7 langsung berubah fungsi menjadi Zune. Alhasil layaknya Zune, pengguna dapat menikmati konten-konten hiburan.
Di bawah ikon tersebut masih terdapat lima kolom besar: Calendar, Exchange, Windows Live, Me serta Xbox Live. Fitur-fituer tersebut adalah prototype yang dipamerkan pada ajang MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2010.
